St. Mark's Junior School is situated in Benhall, on the Gloucester side of Cheltenham. Benhall is a private housing development dating back to the 1950's. St Mark's Parish has always had a church Primary School and links to this housing development. The school was moved to its present large site in 1968 as an eight class Primary School. St Mark's became a Junior School in May 1972 when a County Infant School, Benhall Infant was built on the same site, in response to rising numbers. St Mark's is a pleasant spacious building and recently celebrated its Silver Jubilee.
There are two two-storey wings, one at each end of the assembly hall, containing eight classrooms in all. In addition there is a computer suite, library and resources room. Building in progress will provide an additional special needs room.
The school maintains strong links with the local Parish. The team clergy take turns in coming to the school to hold regular weekly school assemblies.

The school has a good tradition of caring for special needs pupils and would want this to continue. The school has close links with the local College of Higher Education.
